Galway Races - Ladies Day Style

The Galway Races is one of the biggest events that happens in Galway throughout the summer and in the lead up to the events that occurs during that very busy week there are also smaller events to celebrate the launch. Due to this it is important to be prepared and to have your outfits planned and organised. The biggest day of the festival is ladies' Day and the best dressed person competition is held at the race course and at Hanley & Co we have a wide variety of outfit options for you to choose from no matter what look you are going for. From tuxedos,  to suits, to  smart casual blazers, you name it we’ve got it.

Today we are going to focus on the smart casual day look as we are all about getting the most out of your favourite pieces. Starting the look with a blazer.

Blazers are an excellent piece to be added to your wardrobe as they are very versatile and can be worn to many different events both casual and more dressy. The brand A Fish Named Fred has a large collection of blazers in many different colours and styles. You really are spoiled for choice with this brand. For today’s look, we choose this A Fish Named Fred blazer in the shade they call red but we would consider this shade more of a pink tone. This blazer is tailored to perfection, has structure and also comes accessorised with a pocket square to add a pop of colour.

Floral Shirts

To add to the playfulness of this blazer we have teamed it with the baby blue floral shirt. Floral or patterned shirts elevate your look to a whole new level. This tip can be easily overlooked but once you try it there’s no going back. Our range of shirts by the brand R2 has a wide range of floral and patterned shirts which really caters for everyone. If you prefer bigger bolder prints or smaller daintier prints they will have something for you.

Chinos or Shorts

In this shoot that took place in Portugal, we styled the look with shorts. Shorts can of course be worn to the Galway Races as seen here they look pretty slick. If shorts aren’t your style we would recommend that you style this look with a pair of chinos in a colour of your choice. To view our collection of chinos you can visit our website here.  Or if you would like to embrace to short trend we recommend you try our Gardeur range.

Make sure to tag us on instagram when wearing your chosen pieces from we would love to share your look with our community.
