The heat wave is officially here and one thing we have learnt from conversations with the team here at Hanley & Co and our customers is that dressing for this hot weather can sometimes be a struggle especially if you want to dress well. With this in mind, we have styled some looks to inspire you to dress in style while enjoying the sunshine.
Summer Work Wear
One thing we know for sure is dressing for work or the office when a uniform isn’t required can be a very challenging task. You need to look professional but your clothing needs to be light-weight and breathable. For this workwear look we chose a polo shirt by Profuomo, styled with chinos by Replay and trainers by CLAE. We chose neutral colours to make it more suitable for office wear but this look can just as easily be worn at the weekend or recreated adding a pop of colour or different colours.
Casual Summer Weekend Look
For this casual weekend look, we chose this cool blue polo shirt by Calvin Klein styled with a pair of chinos by Bugatti and trainers by Tommy Hilfiger. This is the perfect look for a low-key weekend, visiting family, meeting friends, going out for lunch or a stroll around town. This look can also easily be recreated by swapping out the blue polo for a different colour or can also create a layered look by adding a jacket for when the evenings get chilly.
Summer Daywear Look
For this daywear look we decided to style a smarter more dressy look that you can wear on a date or to an informal special occasion such as a Birthday brunch or celebration. We chose a stripe polo shirt by Paul & Shark styled with chinos by Bugatti, a belt by Monti and Loake loafers. You can also dress this look down by removing the belt and swapping the loafers for trainers or you can recreate this look by swapping out the polo shirt with a different colourway as Paul & Shark have this polo shirt in a number of variations.
Smart Casual Summer Look
Another challenging look to pull off in the summertime is the smart casual look. The items you choose need to be lightweight and breathable but also appropriate for the occasion. To create this look we chose this floral shirt by Profuomo, chinos by Gardeur, a belt by Monti and loafers by Tommy Hilfiger. Choosing a neutral pair of chinos allows you to mix and match them with a number of different shirts. If floral or patterned shirts aren’t your style then switch this shirt out with a plain shirt option.
Date Night Look
The summer evening brings many more social gatherings and reasons to celebrate. Sometimes these social events aren’t as formal or dressy as you may think which makes the challenge of outfit planning even more tricky due to this we styled this look which is perfect for any informal summer event. We styled this look around the Club of Gents blazer which is a must-have in your wardrobe all year long, we then chose a cobalt blue shirt by R2, a belt by Monti, chinos by Gardeur and loafers by Loake. This look again can easily be created by styling the blazer with a different shirt or pair of chinos.
