Today’s Lockdown Interview is with Conor Whelan. Conor Whelan is Vice-Captain of the Galway senior hurling team, and plays as a right corner forward for club side Kinvara.

Who are you self-isolating with?
I’m isolating with my family in Kinvara.
What tips do you have for people to stay positive and motivated?
Plan out your days/week. Stick to routine. Focus on completing each task and moving onto the next one. Maintain sleep pattern and structure. Eat healthy and exercise as much as possible.
If there anything you have been putting off that you have finally found time for?
Helping more around home with chores. Reading and perhaps relaxing.
What’s your favourite movie/book?
Favourite movie would be Step Brothers. Excellent.
Have you participated in any online challenges or TikTok videos that we can check out?
Not as of yet. Coming soon!
Any tips for working out/staying fit at home?
I focus on consistently improving everyday. Set targets on progress. Be patient and work hard.
What does playing sport mean to you?
Sport is a huge part of my life. It enables me to bring excitement and joy to people and that’s what it’s all about. Representing your club, community and your county is a huge honour for me.
What’s your favourite sporting memory?
Winning an all Ireland with my county.
Any Netflix shows/documentaries you want to watch?
Am I’ll have to get into this normal people buzz. Everyone seems to be talking it up.
What is the first thing you will do/ place you will visit when the lockdown is over?
Breakfast in Dela! Well overdue
